Hello! I've been a member of TCS for about a month now, and I've been rude not to introduce my kitty.
So this is the story of our Boba Cat. My husband and I had a whirlwind of a summer (graduation, marriage, moving, new jobs, etc) and getting a kitten was the last thing we were planning to do. But then my family cat (from childhood) unexpectedly passed away and it was rough not having a kitty somewhere in my life.
After a few months, we decided that we could get a kitten.
We found Boba online. The previous owner gave us hardly any information. All we know is that we got him at approximately eight weeks, and he was riddled with parasites consistent with outdoor cats. We got that taken care of immediately, and now we have a clean and cuddly 4 month old.
We think he may be a Siamese-ragdoll mix.
The past month has been interesting. We are learning that he is a high-energy cat and needs almost overwhelming amounts of play a day otherwise he will be CRAZY! But we're learning. After all, he is a kitten and he was probably not completely socialized (he is a biter) before he left the litter.
Right now I'm working on clicker training... the very beginning stages (the librarians laughed at me when I rented a book about it). I just want to redirect a little of his energy and give him a new place to use his intelligence.
I'm loving this site so far! Lots of good advice and kind encouragement.
