Ice Castles

No, not the movie.

My husband and I were on vacation last week and visited one of the locations. It ws at the end of the season for them, so things were a little slushy, but it was cool to see!

I have never seen anything like this. Perfectly beautiful, but cold looking.

Beautiful!! Way too much ice and cold for my thin southern blood but it's very pretty. For me, the only proper place for ice is in a salted glass with Cuervo 1800, Grand Marnier and Simply Limeade. 

By the way, when I first saw the name of the thread, the first thing that came to mind was the movie!!   

That looks really amazing! Fun place to visit.
We went to Winterlude a few years ago in Ottawa, and really enjoyed all the ice sculptures. May as well make the most of winter's cold and do something fun.

It was a warm night, so it wasn't too bad. Things were actually melting and the bottom was slushy. :lol3:

is this in the polar caves or somewhere else? We have to go check these out. my SO loves caves and anything nature related..this looks like a great thing to do on the weekend if I am not working...and I LOVE the pictures!

It's near Loon in Lincoln. They have closed for the season though.

I just told my SO about them-we or I have lived in NH all my life and never heard of this before=next winter we will check it out. I am showing him the photos you have up-I think he will think its cool too. Must have been COLD!!
 

I think this was the third year they did it in New Hampshire.

Those pictures are gorgeous! I never heard of them!
