Injured cat not eating

About four days ago I noticed my cat had become very lethargic and was not defecating. Took him to the vet, they did diagnostic testing through blood work, all of which they said came back good. They did an xray which showed his was full of feces. They noticed he was very responsive when they were touching around his back and thought he may have injured his back and the pain was not allowing him to posture to defecate. After being hooked up to an IV for fluids and pain meds and having an enema, he was able to evacuate his colon finally and appeared to be in higher spirits and moving around better. During this whole ordeal he continued to eat and drink.

Now, I have had him home for two days. Today he barely ate anything, I never saw him drink, and this evening he vomited what appeared to be stomach bile. I don't know if that is because of the amoxicillin I gave him he did not have enough food in his stomach. He did urinate and defecate at least once today, but I am very worried he has stopped eating and have not observed him drinking. The vet also sent him home with a supply of pain meds for a few days.

I think you should ask the vet for high calorie food or paste and start to syringe feed him. Hopefully you can get your cat through this, but he must eat if he's going to be ok.

I got home from work this morning to find him eating almost all of his food and drinking water. I'm wondering if the amoxicollin they prescribed him is making him nauseous because he seems to decline after taking it but improve after a while

It could be the antibiotics are making him nauseous like you think. I wonder if you called up your vet and asked him about it, and maybe get an anti-nausea med?

Yes I will call and talk to them. Gosh I hate putting the little guy on yet another med. He's had a rough week
