This sounds very encouraging!  I'm especially glad to hear that she's doing okay despite the missed dosages.  The meatball approach sounds promising - I really hope it works.  I'll be looking for updates!

I would try boiling some chicken and set aside a little bit of the broth,  Then mix the warm broth with fatty chicken residue in  a tiny bit of food she likes.  Stinkiest food that she loves is the best. Fancy Feasts chick and liver works well.  If that doesn't work,  Try a little glob of spray can cheese or sour cream..  My kitty loved both of those things..  sour cream hid the bitter taste of crushed pills and she licked it right up..   spray can cheese she just loved but it didnt mask any flavors.   Always use a manageable amount of food to make sure she eats it all.  Baby food (1st stage) might work too..  The grape flavor one is the one i give to one of my other cats... she isnt feral tho.  She HATES it..  it tastes like cough medicine.  how do i know?  Well she shook her head with it in her mouth and it flew onto my lips!   She is suppsed to have it 3x a day too but I can only do 2.  she hasn't had a seizure since she has been on the medication..  is she on levetiracetam?

When one of my senior cats had to be on short-term medication he kept spitting it out.  I wrapped the pill into a piece of cheese.  I used swiss cheese slices and created a ball around the whole pill.  I then let him eat the cheese ball out of my hand.  This was the only thing that worked with him.

The vet wanted Nat to take a pill to start with (after the cream didn't work well enough.)  Most meds come in either form, whichever is easier.  Now that you've got liquid, all you can do is catch him and hold him and give it in the side of his mouth with a syringe.  That's how I give Nat's.  He doesn't like it, but he has to take it.  It was a major stressor for me at first because I was convinced I could not give the med.  The pill didn't work for him.  BUT it may work better with your kitty.

You said she was semi-feral and had been indoors for a year.  You also did say you caught her by throwing a robe over her and put her in a carrier to take her to the ER, so I think you can catch her.  It's just not going to be easy.  Good luck!

Will the cat eat Marmite?

My cat likes Marmite and the flavor is strong enough to cover most icky tasting medicine.

Try mixing up the liquid in something like hamburger and add in a good dose of Marmite.

Or, maybe something that's a little firmer like the texture of Marzipan.  (Maybe not actual Marzipan but something like it.)

Make up some little dough balls made of meat, Marzipan, Marmite and medicine and feed that to Kitty using standard methods.

(We can call it the "M-4"!

Caspers, I'm going to look into that!!!!

Ginny, I posted last night she's onto me and I can't catch her anymore. And semi feral is the part about not being held.

Hope it works.

Fingers crossed for you!

Don't forget that cats and dogs can read human's body language.  If you come at Kitty as if you're looming over her like Lord Voldemort, she'll read that and she'll run like the wind.  It might take some acting ability on your part but if you can make her think you're sharing a yummy treat with her she might be more willing to comply.

Cats can be sneaky so you'll just have to be sneakier!

I have great news!!!!!

I was able to put the transdermal cream on Pandora's ear!! I'm new at it so I did get a tiny dab on my hand but washed my hands immediately but SHE LOVVVEEEEDD ear rubs!!!!!

My vet insists this won't be effective but it's worth a try and I succeeded!!!!

Thank you all for all the amazing posts and support!

Hurray!!!!  What a relief!
I have been so worried.  And how great that you figured out a way she likes being stroked.  Maybe she'll figure out humans aren't so bad after all, even if they do try to feed her nasty tasting food!
Now if those "meatballs" work, you'll be all set.

I have to say your vet sounds a bit of a sourpuss.  First telling you a single missed dose would trigger a seizure and now telling you this won't work.  He was wrong about the first, let's hope he's wrong about the second.

2 for 2!!!! Rubbing that ear keeps us both calm and she gets love. Totally squee

And seizure free since her first dose Sunday of the old medicine, Levetiracetam on day one and half of day two, before missing 2 doses and then starting on the pheno cream last night. Paws crossed.

This is such terrific news!  I'm really glad this is working out so well.  Has her brother been grooming her ears?  You mentioned you were worried about that.  I think it's lovely that Pandora likes having her ears rubbed so much.  Who would have  guessed that she'd actually start enjoying medication time?

Nope he hasn't groomed her ears yet that I'm aware of.

Altho I can't grab her or pick her up (except for the time immediately following a seizure), she LOVES being pet. So now I'm calm, she's calm, and we can bond. Meanwhile I'm like "ha ha I gave you medicine na na na na Foo foo" lol

I did notice she had scratched herself on her temple. She's allergic to fish and in my attempt to see if she'd even eat the pheno liquid I mixed it with tuna so she got itchy.
