So I've had my cat Puss now for nearly nine months.

When I first found him it was during the middle of a rain storm, I was walking home after visiting one of my friends and I heard a meow, next thing I know I see a cat meowing at the Supermarket door while it was closed. I stopped and petted the cat which it let me do at the time. Next thing I know the cat is following me home. I later picked him up and brought him home. The next day I posted ads online and around town with pictures, sent pictures to the SPCA and Heavenly Creatures but NOBODY ever claimed him. I should note he had no collar at the time I found him either. He is now very much apart of my family and I love him.

Also, would like to add he is not microchipped

Thank you for rescuing this sweet one.  Have you taken him to the vet yet?  He will need a check up as well as some vaccines.  It is also most important that he be neutered.

I'm waiting to get enough money together before I bring him to the vet. I agree I want him to see one ASAP. Money has been abit tight but is getting easier now.

Yet he may have worms or other cat diseases that are not apparent from just looking at him.  He will need vaccines and a neuter is a must!

So I have news, I brought Puss home from the Vet about a half hour ago. They checked him over, listened to his heartbeat, checked his ears, scanned him for a mirochip (he didn't have one), weighed him (he is 17.8 pounds), and gave him a flu shot and a rabies shot ! They also gave me a deworming kit, just in case. He got a clean bill of health !!!!! Also, he was fixed by somebody before. They just recommended I put him on a diet.

Such good news!!  Thank you for taking him to the vet.  It's a relief to know he is healthy.  Now for the not so fun part of getting him to lose weight.  I have had success getting my cats to lose weight by making sure they are not free fed.  Meal time happens 2-3x a day.  Wet food is better than dry, but you still have to watch portions.  Some pate style cat foods are quite high in calories.  I am feeding my crew mostly wet food, but for dry I am using Blue Buffalo Weight control.

Thanks for updating.

NP....and yes, I will begin his diet process ! Also, the vet was impressed by the type of flea collar I bought for him before he had on. I bought it at a local pet store ! It was a 8 month treatment. Said it was very good !

Some things you might be intrested to learn. So I was just talking to my mom, she informed me that my great grandmother, Ada Murphy (my grandmother's mother) worked for the Dunfield's as a personal House Maid on Waterford Bridge Road a long time ago They later became just like Family. Lady Dunfield lived across the street from where my mother grew up years later and she started the SPCA here in Newfoundland. Thought I'd share abit of my family history. My Grandmother Sybil was named after Lady Sybil Dunfield. The Dunfield's had a dog named Boo and several cats. I also remember their daughter Dorthy Dunfield from when I was a small child.
