Cooper's hips (near his pelvis) have been twitching all day. I am paranoid because he was diagnosed with idiopathic epilepsy a few weeks ago and while in hospital he tore all his back claws off while convulsing. They got infected and had to be cleaned out and they found a MRSA-like infection so he is on all kinds of meds :sniffle:

Could the twitching be a sign of his feet being in pain? Should I be worried?

He is going to the local vet Wednesday for a blood draw because he is also anemic. So I will ask then unless this is bad?? Poor boy!!

I know it's a little hard to see because of his breathing but I thought a video might help!

It looks like skin twitching in a cat that has something going on with his skin or when something is brushing up against it. Ive seen my cats skin crawl like that before. Maybe someone on this site can tell us more. I would call the vet tomorrow morning just to make sure it's not related to the seizures.

Thanks I will call tomorrow. I'm afraid my local vet isn't too familiar with seizures (my cat is her first and only epileptic lol!)

It didn't seem like any big deal but just weird that it's been all day! it doesn't seem to bother him but then again he is doped up on meds and wearing an e-collar! Poor guy!!

What antibiotic is he on? My cat is on Convenia and his legs twitched like that last night.

Any chance he has toxoplasmosis? My vet thinks my cat has latent toxoplasmosis that somehow reactivated; and they think he had a seizure 4 days ago due to it (before the Convenia shot). Toxoplasmosis can cause seizures.

He is on Minocyline. It could be related to the antibiotic since we just switched after the culture came back as an antibiotic-resistant type of strep.

I don't know if they tested him for Toxo but they did a full blood panel. And an MRI, spinal tap, x-rays and ultrasound. You'd think with all that they would have found it LOL

I left a message with his neurologist but haven't heard back yet. Poor guy, I can't tell if the twitching is just getting worse or if he is having lots of small seizures.

For some reason my first response isn't showing up!

He is on Minocyline, and the twitching did start right after he starting taking that one.

But either the twitching is getting worse or he's having seizures again :(

I'm pretty sure he doesn't have Toxo - they did about a million tests when he was in the hospital (I took him to a vet school).
