This past week Nicolai started shaking his head like he's saying no, gradually he's become less active than usual, and he makes a sort of sigh sound when I pick him up. I've also noticed his fur has become rougher, I've already made a vet appointment for later today, I hope is nothing serious...

Poor guy, it doesn't sound like he's feeling well.  Glad you're going to the vet.  Please let us know how it goes.

that is what I just went thu this my cat was doing that I took my cat to the vet then she set a dental cleaning appt she pulled several teeth ,he had a abess also , today is 4 days later and my cat has stopped shaking his head and was cleaning himself last night. It all was because his poor month hurt him. I am so happy he feels better .

Vet says he seems to be healthy, no teeth probs, no ear mites, no resp probs, he did take some tests, and will call me with the results during the week, so I don't know...

Did the vet check his ears?  He could have a yeast infection.  Did they do a full blood panel?  That might reveal some stuff.  Other than that, I'd look at his food.  What are you feeding him?
