Hi, new to the forum but need some advice.

We picked our new kitten up a week ago and she was being fed whiskers dry and wet food. She didn't seem very keen on the food and will it not being very good quality I wanted to change her to some better food.

On Wednesday I added some new (wainwrights if you are in the UK)

Sorry pressed post before I meant too!

I added some wainwrights wet and dry food to her whiskers and she picked the new stuff out and let the whiskers, so I decided to just give her the new wainwrights food.

She has since had quite runny poops (half way between normal and diarrhoea) but today she's had a poop which was mucus.

Not sure whether to put her back on the whiskers (which she hasn't had since Tuesday) or give her plain chicken or stick with the wainwrights?? What would you suggest?

She is fine in herself.

Has she been dewormed etc?? Absent things like a virus or worms it's probable the quick diet change. I'd lessen the amount of new food and more gradually introduce it.

Yes she was wormed on Tuesday. I gave her a little chicken last night and this morning and mixed the whiskers dry back in with the new dry food. Will keep her on chicken and dry for a few days before gradually reintroducing the wet food again.

It could be the worming medicine working too. but most probably the diet change. Does she still have diarrhea??
