Hi there. My name is Steph. My lovely girl Jemma is quite pregnant at the moment and we are unable to get her to the vet. She runs away after she has been to the vet and doesn't come back for a long time as she hates the trip. I don't want to stress her out with her being pregnant but I need to know how far along she might be. I am aware of all the early signs nipple swelling , eating more, becoming more loving etc and I have googled myself silly. She's quite big and I just wanted some second opinions as to whether she is carrying quite a few kittens and that's why she's so big or is it because she is close to her due date. I also want to know if her tummy has dropped yet and what I should be looking for. We have everything ready for her :) just in case. She's quite sleepy and has been staying in our bedroom for the past few days. She also hasn't been eating as much as she was last week. The last time she gave birth it was only to four kittens and she had them inbetween us for comfort. She's very loving and beautiful. She's camera shy tonight so I can't upload any others from a decent angle . Her tummy is also rock hard xx

I'd say she is 6.5-7 weeks pregnant! Have you felt any kitten movement? Once you feel kittens wiggling around, there's usually 2-3 weeks left. I felt my girls kittens move hard and strong at 6 weeks.

Either way, she looks like she's around day 45-50, feline pregnancy gestation is 63 days, average. Shouldn't be much longer! I know the wait is hard, but hang in there.

Also please spay your girl after this litter, it's so beneficial in the long run.

Good luck!

Yes, it's important to keep her inside and safe until she can be spayed when the kittens are 8 weeks old and weaned. She can get pregnant again 1 week of delivering.

Please use this thread to ask any other questions you have!

Depending on how far apart her litters are, her body may be depleted of calcium.  Please give her KMR in a dish once a day to help build of her supply.  Calcium deficiency can cause seizures an can be fatal if not caught in time. (sounds dire but I would hate myself if I didn't warn you and she was deficient.) Feeding her kitten food, wet and dry now and while she is nursing is very beneficial to both her and the kittens.
