Happy first day of March!

Favourite type of bread?

I enjoy bagels, white bread, baguettes, and sweet breads, like Pullas. And if they count, croissants.

I couldn't possibly pick a favorite, although I'd be hard pressed to pass up any bagel made in Brooklyn

I love the thick Italian and French breads and bagels.  Sadly, none for me for a while.  Starting the FOD-MAP diet.

I love bread.

Italian bread

French bread

Rye bread

Pumpernickel bread

Ciabatta bread

English muffins

New York bagels. Everything ones, salt ones, garlic ones, onion ones, cinnamon raisin ones, pumpernickel ones. A really good bagel doesn't even need anything on it. Just warm from the oven.

Biscuits (they count in my world)

Sourdough bread

Pretzels. Soft ones from the carts in NYC. Just salt. Nothing else.

Really, the only bread that I'm not crazy about are the Wonder breads and other brands like that. The mass produced white and wheat breads that are too fluffy and full of air.

i don't think i could pick a favorite bread -- i love pretty much all breads and bread type items. and @Kat0121 has a wonderful list of breads!

there's one bread bakery that i love, though it's been decades since i've had any bread from them -- Zaro's Bakery/Zaro's Bread Basket (in NYC)!

It's probably a tie between a GOOD Italian bread (with a good crust on it!) and a good sourdough.  Rye bread is up there too.

I grew up in an area with several Italian bakeries. The bread was just the best.  The crust was hard; the inside so soft!  I'm pretty sure all the babies in my family teethed on pieces of crust at some point.
We had the best pizza places too.  Some of them had crusts you could let them teeth on too.

French, Italian, Vienna, basically anything like that. Make garlic bread with it, toast it under the broiler, and take it out as soon as the edges begin to brown. Then put thick slices of tomato on it, season to taste, cover with cheese, and stick it back in the broiler until the cheese gets bubbly. Eat immediately.

And, because of the diabetes, I can't have it any more. Sigh. But feel free to use the recipe. And it really is important to cook it in two stages. If you try to cook it in one stage, by the time the garlic butter has melted the tomato is cooked through, and too hot to eat.

The above post says it all, right down to the mass produced white breads.

A really good bread just rocks. A nice, thick slice, fresh from the oven, only slightly cooled, and slathered with butter.

I make this egg braided bread and OMgosh, it's just wonderful stuff. You braid three ropes for the bottom and then braid another two ropes and lay them over the bottom braid and tuck the ends under. Let rise and bake. Honestly, I could easily eat a whole of that egg bread myself. It's like heaven on a plate.

I love all kinds of bread except wheat bread.

My favorites are ciabatta, English muffins and bagels.

How do you pick just one??
I love bread. My mom calls me Carb Girl.
I especially love thick slices of denser bread (like rosemary olive oil bread, yum!), warm and spread with melty butter. Mmm.
I really love those little ciabattas for sandwiches, too.
