Hi, I have a 5.5 month kitten. I am wondering what healthy treats I can offer. Currently she has the odd roast chicken scrap or a bit of scrambled egg that my daughter won't eat.
Yes, those are all great options! I think the rule when feeding home cooked food as treats is to not exceed 10% of their overall diet, otherwise you need to portion out the ratio of muscle and organs to make sure they're getting the right balance of nutrients. But in small amounts you shouldn't have to worry about that.Thanks. We have dogs, so automatically avoid onions and garlic when giving any human food to the fur babies.
I feed away from the dinner table if they are getting any of our foods.
I think I will just continue to give a more of my meat here and there then, and a bit of egg. Seems like it is a healthy option, and she does seem to like it. Wasn't sure what other things there are. I used to give baked liver when training the dogs but not sure if that is oK for cats. Chicken hearts and livers are abundant in the supermarket here, so that might be something I could bake/poach and give in small portions?
