My 13 year old female DSH started to limp a few days ago favouring her left hind leg. Today I noticed she is favouring her front left paw as well. I cannot imagine why although I feel she may have slipped onto the bathtub while attempting to get out of the window. She is new to me having only adopted her in December so I am not too familiar with her medical background. She was an outdoor cat but I have vowed to keep her inside although she is not happy about it.

Since she is older it's best to have the vet check her out. If she's putting weight on the limbs that's a good sign she may have just overdone it. If nothing's broken at least the vet may prescribe medications to help with the pain. She could be getting arthritic as well. Always best to play it safe with an older cat.

Good point. She is also a bit overweight. I tried to massage the area of the hind leg and she was okay with it. But she does have a tendency to suddenly bite. I did not go too far.

She will see the vet on Thursday.

Thank you.
