My kitten is a 5 month old black cat. Usually very playful, eating well and into something all the time. The past few days he hasn't been eating, sleeping a lot more than usual and peed outside of his litter box last night, which neither of my cats has ever done! I have a vet appt in the morning for him but I'm still so concerned! :( what's wrong with my little baby?!

I'm sorry your kitten isn't feeling well.  No one here is a vet so we can't tell you what's wrong with him but frequently urinating outside the box is a sign of a UTI. On the other hand, loss of appetite and excessive sleeping can be associated with several conditions so you're doing exactly the right thing in getting him into the vet first thing in the morning.  Please let us know what the vet says.  I hope your little guy feels better soon.

I agree with the above and I'm glad he's getting checked out.  One other idea - if he's not already fixed, he may be starting to spray.  It's definitely time if he hasn't already been neutered.  Let us know what the vet says!

Appreciate you guys! The vet said that he has a fever and is too thin which was hard for me to believe because he eats like a pig! But they are keeping him for the day and doing blood work. Testing him for feline leukemia. He had the test already at 4 months at the shelter I adopted him from but they think it's a good idea. I think also doing a basic blood test too. I worried but hoping for the best!

Hoping for good news for your little fellow!
I'm really glad he's at the vet getting a good check up but know how hard it is to wait.

I had a pretty traumatic day with my Binx! My vet did labs, ruled out FEV/FIV but she randomly suggested FIP. Told me his labs were very abnormal and that I should expect the worst! Had me very emotional.. Especially after just losing my dad I didn't want to lose my kitty too! I ended up taking him to the ER vet. He did a second opinion visit and doesn't quite believe it could be FIP. Although it is possible, as it is with all cats but he doesn't have many symptoms. He thinks he might of just had a cold or stomach bug. He was put on antibiotics just to be careful, but he is home now and has been eating, drinking and playing! Maybe I was overly paranoid, but vet shouldn't of told me to expect him to die :( all is well though, I will be keeping a close eye on him and make sure nothing goes down hill. Thank you all for your kind words and thoughts! I think my baby Binx will be a okay!

kaatex8, what about your kitty's bloodwork does the vet think suggests FIP?  I will be keeping you and little Binx in my throughts and prayers.

He had elevated protein and tbili. The second vet he saw says that could be elevated due to an infection and that he could hear a bit of congestion. Which is why he gave him the antibiotics to clear anything up. I am crossing my fingers that is all it was! Just keeping a close eye on my little man! But he is acting like himself!
