Hi everyone. I am new here but wanted to get everyones opinion on what I am currently feeding my 8 month old tabby. Since we got him about 2 months ago I have been stringent on feeding the best food possible health wise for him while keeping a budget.

Currently I leave out about 1/2  a cup of dry food per day. It has been Farmina N&D at first (Which he goes crazy for and a little much for my budget) but ended up switching to Merrick Perfect Bistro (he does eat this but sometimes will not finish his serving for the day) and just ordered a Merrick Before Grain Chicken.

With that I also feed him a 3oz can of Osopure wet cat food.

This is what I feed him daily and he is an average size for his age. I would like to see what everyones opinions are on this.

Is this enough food? I know this is obviously alot better than any "normal" cat food but what are your opinons on it?

Are you completely opposed to the higher grade mass market varieties?

I am new myself and I found the initial information I read regarding cat nutrition a bit inconsistent.  Like everyone I have to stick to a budget.  Of course I want the best for my new housemate.  I've read several labels and for the time-being I have settled on the following dry food;  Rachael Ray Nutrish, Purina Beyond and Purina One Kitten Formula.  I chose them because the lead ingredient for all is muscle meat and the grain content is relatively minimal. Naturally, the final decision is up to the cat.

Is the Merrick Perfect Bistro grain free?
Yes. We used to feed this to our cats, but it didn't work for my individual cats. It made them sick.

Now I feed Nutrisca. Which I would definitely recommend to anyone. It is grain free and has no potato. (but if your cat likes the Merrick it is fine)

I haven't heard of the canned food you are feeding at all. Do you feed a variety of flavors or just one?

Personally,  I would recommend adding a wider variety of canned foods to your kittens diet over time. Adding new brands and flavors so the kitten isn't picky later on.

Hi I have a kitten also, but I have 2 adult cats also. I feed them Iams indoor cat They seem to love it. Its not that expensive. It also helps with furballs and digestion. All three of my babies love it. Try a small bag!!
