...with the cats...
good morning!

this week my all-in-one printer has been having issues.
it's being temperamental about scanning documents, which i do often and really need to be able to do. so several days ago i bought a new printer which can print, copy, and scan.

that got me thinking about other things that i've needed to replace/buy a new one. so for today's Question of the Day.........

What is the most recent thing you've replaced?  (can be something that got broken, stopped working, was lost, or etc)

i'll start!

my printer is the most recent thing i've needed to replace. well, it's still able to print and i have ink for it, so i'll use it to print at least until i use up the ink i have for it.

i have the new printer, and will get that set up and hooked up tomorrow.

how about you?

I have the worst luck with printers. They really seem to hate me. I can never get them to print what I need them to, when I need them to.

The most recent thing I replaced was my car. I was sick of driving an older car with all of its older car quirks. Sold my 2001 Ford Focus and bought a 2014 Subaru Impreza.

Last month was one of those months where everything broke at the same time. I had to replace;

* The hard drive on one computer.

* The battery and adapter on my back-up computer.

* My chain spikes. (Lost one in the snow and can't walk around here without chain spikes over my boots.)

* The brake cable on the car.

* A kerosene stove. (I suspect one of the cats may have sprayed directly into it. It suddenly stopped working and smelled really bad.)

* Most of the cat-proof fence after a stupid tree fell down and broke it.

I've been doing a lot of over time this month to pay for everything.

Geez, I don't know.

Back in December, we came "this close" to replacing the blasted stove because the oven clean cycle was locked and I couldn't get the local repair guy to come down to look at it. Heck, I couldn't even get the guy to call me back....and we bought the stove from him!

Underwear?
Bought new bras back in January and got rid of the old ones.

It's funny that when something you took for granted stops working, it dominates your thoughts. So last Wednesday a washbasin tap broke and I could think of nothing else all the time. And as usual, my regular plumber was busy, I could not wait, so I called a new one who grossly overcharged me. I ended up paying 40 Euros for a new tap that I got myself, and 50 Euros for replacing the old one.

Ordered new ASICS running sneakers Friday from Zappos.  Waiting for them to arrive.  I don't wear regular shoes anymore unless I have some kind of event to go to - too many foot problems when I do. Good thing my office has a very relaxed dress code

I haven't actually replaced it yet, but I need to buy a new slow cooker.  My old one was working fine, but the last time I used it, the lid broke in half when I bumped it against the stove.  A replacement lid is $20 + shipping, so it makes more sense to just buy a new slow cooker.  Course that's easier said than done, with so many different ones to choose from.

I think it was a Hamilton Beach blender I bought at a yard sale close to thirty years ago for $5.00. I don't use a blender much, but I like them for milk shakes. I wanted a light weight one, all plastic because I wanted to be able to take it off the counter and put it down below on the revolving shelf. I finally found one that suited me at Ollie's for $15. It is just enough to do what I want. Plus I will use it for chopping pecans when I make pies.

We haven't replaced it yet but I am sure my bf will stop and get on today. Our coffee maker quit working a few days ago. It's not a big deal for me cause I don't drink it, but my bf lives on it.

Oh my. When my mom killed the coffee maker a couple years back (with her static shock!) we had a new one before the day was done, lol.

My car. My old one was a 1999 Saturn, and after all these years, it started breaking down every few months. The brakes were also going, which is a safety thing. I bought a 2015 Buick.

My original 6 dining room chairs - black leather - were ruined by my cats. Every couple of years I buy 2 new ones (not leather - best plastic - but no-one notices except me) and I throw out the worst pair.

My last purchase of 2 new ones at the end of last year created a problem - there was only one in such a bad condition that it had to go! I now have 7 chairs and guess which ones the cats love to play on!

The 2 newest of course!

I replaced my dishwasher in November. Home depot had a pre black Friday sale. Other than that, nothing major.

A new battery for the car

A new kettle.

A new water bowl for Morgana.

Also got new leather ballet slippers, since the old ones developed some holes. Mmm...I'm sure there are more things! Just can't think of them right now.

The baby scale that I weight Artie on... it went loo-loo crazy.. The first month it was very accurate. Then when you dealt with a wiggle worm like Artie, it was off a few ounces. It was accurate on stable items.

Changed the battery 3 times. Now, with a new battery; it jumps around all over the place and will not settle in. When it does happen to do so, it is possessed....so out it goes...sigh...money does not grow on my balcony....

I actually just replaced my printer.  It still worked but it was a Kodak printer and I could no longer get ink for it.  I actually had purchased it several years ago when I was in school and I had chosen it because Kodak had the cheapest ink.  They have real cheap  ink cartridges now.  It's getting close to time to do taxes and I still like to print out a hard copy for my for my own files so I bought a new printer.  I got an HP Envy.
