Hi there,  I would love some advice on our current ringworm problem. We adopted a kitten from the SPCA and unfortunately, he developed ringworm. He passed the ringworm on to our senior, diabetic cat and to me.  So far, neither of my kids (both under 10) nor my husband has developed lesions.  When I brought the kitten to the vet at the SPCA, they immediately recommended that they take the kitten for quarantine and treatment.  The senior cat is now quarantined in a bathroom in our house.

It's been a serious nightmare. The senior cat is stressed and constantly meowing and scratching at the door.  We miss our poor kitten.  We feel bad for our senior cat.  I'm using anti fungal cream on myself.  We are trying to clean but I am completely overwhelmed.

- The vet took a culture of the senior cat's fur but has not prescribed any medication for him other than a pure oxygen anti fungal wash (twice weekly).  Should I go ahead and ask for the lime sulfur dip and the oral medication before it's been the full 10 days for his culture to develop?

- For the life of me, I can't believe that I will be able to adequately clean this whole house and rid it of spores.  We allowed the kitten and senior cat to go EVERYWHERE -- closets, beds, kids' stuffies, etc. etc.  UGH!

- What if we bring the kitten back and end up reinfecting him because I didn't adequately clean the house?

Anyone out there can talk me off the edge?
