So, I finally caved and bought kitty treats... I got the kookamunga krunchie kravings and I do not recommend them. They're catnip chicken flavored and I offered them to both the picky princess and the bottomless pit baby and they turned tail and ran. That's a pretty strong no.

My cats weren't keen on the catnip flavoured treats either, although they go crazy for the real stuff.

You shouldn’t be worried when your cats refuse to eat one particular food, you should be worried when they refuse to eat anything else than one particular food. Apart from the possibility of one-sided nutrition, and the inability to apply special diets for any health issues that might arise, you’d have a big problem if that food disappears from the shelves even temporarily.

To avoid creating finicky eaters, feed your cats a variety of flavors from more than one manufacturers.

I wasn't worried. The specialty pet food store was giving out samples of Primal and it turns out that the picky princess likes that. I was going to use it as treats, but then started sprinkling it on her food that she's been turning her nose up at. She'll eat it with some Primal on it.

Our cats love Primal! They eat it as meals, twice a day, but I do occasionally use it as toppers, too.

I had a similar reaction with one cat when I offered her Instinct's rabbit raw boost mixers. The first time she squinted and ran away. When I followed her with the bag, she kept running.
Yesterday I opened a small bag to offer a few to my male cat, who does like them and while Molly was eating her regular food she gagged as I put a few bites on the table and ran away again.
Something about the smell, too strong for her, turns her off. She's really afraid of them, actually. :D
