Friend's cat needs a temporary home--TEXAS

Hi everyone! I've been trying for weeks, with no luck, to help a good friend of mine from Texas, re-home his cat temporarily while he and his wife get back on their feet financially. I've tried many avenues with no luck. Poor Tigger is so sweet, 8 years old, loving and kind, and unfortunately scared and timid in the sister in law's house in one room sequestered from the other animals---and my friend desperately wants to move him to a better situation but has had no luck--it would only be for about 5 months. I'm desperate to help them, does anyone have any connections or know of any place that could help my friend? I'm posting a picture of Tigger here--he's friendly, disease free and just a sweet old guy. Any help you can give me would not go unnoticed or unappreciated. Thank you SO much! This is an international site, so people rarely find homes (even temporary ones) for cats here.  The odds of someone who can help living near by are just so small.

Since you're having such a hard time finding a place for Tigger,  what about trying to make his room more cat friendly?  Is there room for a cat tree?  This is an excellent way to add vertical space to a room and at the same time Tigger might feel more secure up high.  Also is your friend playing with him on a regular basis?  That should help cheer him up.  Your friend might also try plugging in a feliway diffuser.  These are based on cat pheromones that promote a sense of calm and well being and many of our users have had good results with them.  Here is their website:  http://www.feliway.com/us/#redirected   Cheapest prices are said to be at amazon.com.
