Has anyone tried  the Sureflap Microchip Feeder? I have 4 cats who all need to lose some weight. I have looking at other types and this appears to be the best with a 3 year warranty. It costs about 150, so before I buy it, I would like some help with a review of it or other types that might work in my situation.

No input - sorry - but interested as well. It seems to have positive reviews on Amazon.

It looks interesting, but I'm not really sure how it would help your cats lose weight. Why not just schedule feeding times for them and feed less food?

If you have cats that like to steal the others' food, scheduling times doesn't help too much unless you watch the whole time.

I've seen either this or something like this, but the price is a bit of a deterrent. I have five cats and well, no, I'd rather watch over them :lol3:

I just don't see it really helping I mean at least in my house the kittens would just shove their way in and help themselves anyway. I have 10 cats so I get the challenge, I just feed the cats that eat slower in a separate room.

I think the idea is that unless the microchip matches, the cat is locked out. Though I've heard cats find their ways in anyway sometimes.

Unfortunately, the way my cats do things has nothing to do with them finishing their own food. I have one that likes to eat half her food, then go eat one of the others' food (that's Maple, my litter-problem child). They all like to taste food from all the bowls, but she's the one that mainly pushes her way in.

Sara is fed in another room since she's getting k/d, and she takes anywhere from 30-45 minutes to finish.
