Hello! Good day! I have a problem with one of our female cats. Every time she gets pregnant and gives birth to her kittens, she eats them right after giving birth to them.

We first learned about this when we discovered (excuse my language) the body parts of the kittens in their box. Our problem is that we do not know when is her expected date of delivery so we can take immediate actions and isolate the kitties from her. This happened many times in the past and we feel awful about it for not being able to do anything to save those kittens. We tried to keep a close watch on her but ultimately failed every time. :(

Cant you spay her?  Its the best solution here by all reasons.

Agreed that spaying her is the best option. It is not heathy for a cat to have many heat cycles or pregnancies, and she is clearly extremely stressed.

If she is having litters all the time, she may also be nutrient starved. It is definitely best to spay her. Otherwise you would have to hand rear litter after litter which means getting up at all hours of the day and night to feed the little ones.

I just reread your other post where you mentioned that your have 24 (probably more now) cats on your compound.  Another reason that these cats may not be thriving is do to inbreeding; it can cause a lot of issues.  I hope you can consider spaying and neutering.

I had a momma cat that would eat her babies between birth and two weeks of having them. This happened 3 times before I realized that it was stress related.

Your cats need to be spayed and neutered. I know it's costly but for the health and safety of all the cats in general that would be the best bet. Stress causes many health risks in cats and if you could find a low cost service to spay and neuter them that would help in the long run.

I have to agree with everyone else. The best thing for her would be to have her spayed. If you need help finding a low cost spay/neuter clinic, let us know where you are located and we will help you.
