Hi from sunny California! I just joined this site tonight. I have 9 beautiful kitties. I love all animals but kitties and I just get each other. Every time I google thing about my cats like symptoms or "how-to's" The Cat Site i always an option. Tonight I figured I might as well join! Let me tell you about my babies. First, I did have 10 kitties but my 19 year old Maine Coon, Kiara passed away. She was my heart. A story for another thread....
I have 20 year old, Mary. Long Haired domestic. She has been with me for 15 years. Her previous owner was moving and could only keep one of her cats. I loved Mary from the moment I met her. She is old and with that comes its own issues. She is blind, arthritic, develops an allergy every so often to fish and most recently has been having seizures. She gets around really well for a senior and her blood work came back pretty good for a kitty her age. She is on anti-seizure medicine and it has been working.
I have 5 sibling 3 year olds. Phil, Lil, Sam, Bruno and Luna. They were rescued from our backyard. Their mother chose to have them in a box in the backyard. I tried to find them homes, but we just couldn't let them go. And now, their ours. They go on walks outside with leashes and harnesses. They get excited when you show them the leash. They are adorable. The mother passed away from distemper. It was very sad.
Then came Eli. He will be 2 soon. He was 11 days and his mother left him behind. This was when my google searching was escalated lol I had no idea how to hand raise an orphaned kitty. My daughter and I did it though. He is a giant now.
Then along came Maybeline and Rocco. They are two of four kittens that I am pretty certain were dumped in my backyard Their eyes were glued shut, they had fleas and hungry. We cleaned them up and put them back outside in case their mother came for them but she never did. Maybeline and Rocco's brother and sister are doing well at their forever home. They were adopted together
That's it. My kitty family!
