A ~6mo old male kitten was found behind the soda machine in my building. I've put up handmade signs telling a possible owner where their baby can be found and so far there's only minor aggression between him and Hecate. I know, he should be quarantined, but, well, they've met and are both under the couch. I've heard some hissing, but no major altercations. He's maybe six months old, black and white, with bi-colored eyes. If I can get him out of the couch, I'll post a pic. I kinda hope he's got an owner missing him, (no collar), but I kinda hope he doesn't, because I want to keep him. But, there are signs up.

This is the best pic I've got of the little guy. He and Hecate are chasing each other around, and there's been a bit of boxing, but they seem to be quite curious about each other. They're about the same age, from appearance, and they're both still kittens, so, if no one claims this little guy, I think they'll get along fairly quickly.

Oh... and he's already used the box, which likely means he has a home, but if not, one less worry.

Aw he adorable!! Maybe take him to your vet and ask them if they can scan him for a microchip.

Is Hecate spayed? They might end up falling in love you know

Hecate isn't spayed yet, and if Mister winds up staying, he's gonna get neutered. They're still kinda sorting things out between themselves. Mister is hiding under the couch, and Hecate is keeping an eye on him. It looks like they want to play, but are a bit scared of each other. And by play, I mean kitten play, not mating. Hecate is still whisper/hiss/yelling at the tom in the hall.

I'm calling him Mister or Mister Man for the time being.

Most of posturing and scared baby act goes away when the wands come out!

Ah, thank you so much for rescuing this poor little guy.  I am betting he and Hecate get used to each other soon - they are young enough to learn quickly to live together.

And using the wand is brilliant.  They get so caught up in it, they forget they are mad at one another!

Rune has decided that if Mister is staying, he will be named Hades, to go with Hecate. And he's got a crooked tail, so both babies will be broken somehow. I need to get him out from under the couch at some point so I can wash his little face. He's got discoloration around the eyes.

I also need to trim his nails if he stays. Plus, of course, a vet visit.

Well, we have some news. A couple in the building recognized him as a stray kitten that they've been feeding since he was a baby baby. I'll still keep the posters up for a bit, just to say I did. But, he's now got a home! And he's Hades.

Curiouser and curiouser... Hades' blue eye seems to be perma-dilated. Should I be worried?

He's playful, hungry, and using the box regularly, (no poops noticed yet, but he's peeing every few hours). I do have to wonder... With the very crooked tail and dilated eye, I do have to wonder how hard his life has been.

Turns out Hades is a snugglebunny. He's not happy about being caught, but once I have him, he's purring. Made nail trimming easier.
This was after I washed his face.

Hecate and Hades were still bickering, and it's getting late. Rune is attempting to sleep, and I'm trying to keep the kittens quiet. So, to heck with it... Break out the catnip. Now, they're too busy trying to coat themselves liberally to bicker.
