PLEASE HELP! My 6 week old female kitten is underweight, has ringworm, and wont eat. She lives with her mother and 3 siblings. I try feed her in a separate room from them so she gets some food and tried 3 different types of food, wet (2 flavours) and dry food for kittens. she wont eat anything or even touch it and has no strength and just sleeps anywhere you place her all day. PLEASE HELP! IM WORRIED ABOUT HER.

It seems she doesnt eats from mom either?   Is she handleable?  If so, you can and must forcefeed her. Unless she takes bottle of ocurse.  If not, you use a big needleless syringe, and give her wet food or kmr or goat milk in the corner of the mouth.

Also, if she isnt used to food, and it MAY be the reson, she will perhaps eat fluid food.   kmr or goat milk for example - being almost as moms milk.

If desperate, you may try with full fat unflavored youghurt - its ok food.

Have a little honey in warm water, and put it on her lips before she shall eat.  It gives some quick energy, so she has the force to eat.

Be sure she is warm - not being enough warm takes force from her, and also, she cant digest properly if not warm enough.

How to do with this ringworm, I dont know.  If its ringworm for real, you must obviously take some precautions not to spread it more.  So change clothes before and after you touch her, and wash off your hands thoroughly...

Is she being treated for the ringworm? She needs to see a vet if she has not. She may need fluids at this point. You can also ask for Nutrical, a high calorie paste, or try plain Gerber turkey baby food in the jar.

She is weak because she is starving. She will not make it long if something is not done! You'll need to feed her KMR (kitten milk replacer) drop by drop from a syringe. Once she's taking it well, she'll need several mL's every 2-3 hours. When she's better, you can make a mush from wet food by mixing it with the KMR and putting it on your finger for her.

Please get her to a vet, and let us know how she is doing.

I agree with SARthur, this is alarming, she is on the verge of dying.  By starvation, and possibly, by something else too.  So a vet visit is wise to see if itsnt no extra sickness.  And to get proper treatment for this ringworm.

Getting her food, in the beginning in fluid form, is first priority - kmr or goat milk to begin with.  How much does she weigh at 6 weeks?  Im sure at least a pound? ie about 20 OZ  or perhaps slightly less - it gives about 160 ml  kitten mothermilk replacement or goat milk a day.   if you give it in the beginning every two hours, to have something to count on, gives roughly no less then 12-13 ml at a time.  That is why I wrote you need a little bottle, or a syringe which isnt one of the smallest.

But you will prob need to give about 24ml a time - if you have a pause in the night, or...  Count for yourself depending on the times you give.

Give as often you can, small portions in the beginning.  The day totale - roughly 150-160ml.

Watered down  canned will give roughly the same.

Agreed that this kitten, and likely the rest of her family, need to see a vet immediately.  Please let us know how it goes.
