I wonder is there anyone can give some suggestion about how to look after weaning kittens. They gave me big headache

I feed my cats mainly raw meat diet, from a commercial raw meat brand, also Orijjen cat/kitten dry food, it has 80% meat I was told.  So far so good.

Howe ever, we recently have 3 five weeks old kittens, they just start to eat solid food.

First, they are very interested about the raw meat mum was eating, I just leave them..    then Kitten A start to have running bum,  also vomit occasionally.  I panic, took away all the food adult cats eat, only allow the kitten suck milk from mum, but he still vomit and his poo looks like condensed milk.

I took him to the vet the following day,  vet gave him anti biotic injection and gave me some paste which helps its digestion.

The following day,  he recovered, become very active again.....    I took away all the raw meat, no matter how keen the kittens are, only the dry Orijen cat/kitten food

the next day, Kitten B  start to  have running bum, and vomit as well. I feed him some the paste to help the digestion.

now, he recovered as well, but I found Kitten C start to have the same problem, running bum, vomit ....

I know the food change must upset their stomach, that is why are ill. however  I already took the raw meat away, only have the dry food, what should I do to help them start to eat solid food?

many thanks

Is the dry food for kittens?  Whenever you change the diet you need to do it slowly.  Are the kittens still nursing from mom?

You could start them on Royal Canin Mom and baby cat dry food.  I know it's not raw food, but it is pretty good on the kittens digestive track.  You also need to feed them wet food.  Fancy Feast kitten is pretty good.  I'm not sure what raw food is good for tiny kittens.  You could ask in the raw food forum for advice if you want to stick with the raw.

I do have different brand of kitten dry food, including the Royal Canin one.  however ,I only feed my cat Orijen now.   And the one I feed is for both cat and kitten.

I did try can food, as well as tuna.  they seems ok.   I just so scared now, only feed them tiny bit, even they want more...

what is the best way to get them on dry food without upsetting their stomach?

I would buy some kmr or goats milk and buy some of the fancy feast wet food. Mix the wet and milk together in a slurry and allow them to eat that. Slowly take the milk out and more food. You can also let them have the kitten kibble. But kittens that age its hard for them to chew the kibble.

Kittens are keen to eat all solid food, raw meat , can food etc...    but the main problem is, the solid food somehow upset their stomach

I would not be certain that it was the food that upset their stomachs. They may have had a stomach virus, especially since they reacted to different things.

They need to start eating solids now. Can you try making the kitten mush, which is kitten food mixed with kmr? That usually goes well. They may also be able to eat kitten dry food, which is in tiny pieces.

Please know that mom can pregnant again at any time now, even without a visible heat. She can be spayed when the kittens are 8 weeks old.

If the kittens are still experiencing stomach upset, they are probably ill and need to be treated by a vet. They may have a bacterial infection or parasites, both of which can cause sickness. Since all are unwell, I seriously doubt it is the food. Rather, they need medicine. Please take them to the vet.

I also suggest that you buy KMR (kitten milk replacer) and soften the dry kibble with it. It can also be mixed with the wet food to make a mush, which is much easier for kittens this age to eat and digest. I recommend powdered KMR over pre-mixed, and PetAg, GNC, and Royal Canin brands are excellent.
