Got one for Bud a few days ago. I brought it home and he loved it so much that we ended up playing for almost two hours.

Then after two hours was enough for me, he took it and dragged it into my bedroom and was playing with it for another few hours.

Now, I have no idea where the damn thing is. I was looking for it yesterday for play time and couldn't find it. Looked all over the apartment. It's nowhere to be found. How does a large toy like that, with a big pole, go missing? I am convinced he is hiding it from me so I can't take it away from him.

I have to keep my DaBird in a CLOSED closet, resting in the shoe rack over the door, or they will devour it.  Places to look for it are the back of closets (they dragged their "prey" into their "cave") and under beds and couches.   Good luck finding it!  You may want to put it away out of reach next time.

I keep mine in a drawer so the kitties can't play with it while I'm not watching.  They LOVE it!  It's the one toy that ALL my kitties love to play with .  Go ahead and purchase the 12 feather replacement pack. You'll need it.

That's it.  I'm ordering one next month when my check comes in.  Hekitty will have a fit.

I don't know why I resisted buying one all this time...I guess I just figured it's a stupid feather on a string...BUT it's actually a lot more than that. The pole is at least twice as long as most wand toys, the "string" is long as well, and the feathers form an arrow shape that makes the whole thing aerodynamic.

So what I find is, the bird-like "flying" really appeals to Bud. He does crazy for it, and I haven't seen him jump after something so much since he was a kitten. So yeah, 10/10 for me so far.

BTW, I found it -- under the dining room table, with the cord wrapped around one of the chair legs. He must have been having a lot of fun for it to get tangled up like that.

The other special thing about DaBirdversus most other feather on stick toys is that the feathers are arranged aerodynamically so they will twirl and the unit is attached with the same thing they attach spinners to on fishing poles, so the feathers twirl as you pull it through the air, and that makes the sound of a flying bird.

I have one for my mischievous furballs too! They love it, best toy ever.

I keep mine in a cupboard, I have had to install a lock to keep them out of it.

They can hear it twirling, it makes almost a "flapflapflap" as it twirls, I've had 6 of these now, with a 10 month old kitten, you go through a fair few. The replacement bird packs are good, the string bit has come away a few times from the pole though, my kittencat is fairly aggressive and she makes a nice grumbly guttaral "mine" growl if you try to pry it from her mouth when she does eventually get it.

I keep mine on a high windowsill, she sometimes cries for it if we haven't had a decent play that day. Excellent toy, much better than all the pricey laser ones.

I just found this thread, I bought one yesterday for my cats and both love it!  Although Shortstack is afraid of it if I'm moving it around (he's such a big scaredy-cat in every sense of the word), but if I just lay it down, he goes and pats and plays with it.  Wurp, however, wants to kill it then EAT it, and the old dude will actually chase it around and leap at it (and not much excites him anymore).  So I'm having to put it up as well, out of fear that he will demolish it if left to his own devices.

If you ever have considered buying one---do it!  It's the best wand-type I've had.  Long enough so they don't actually get your arm if they lunge at it!

Da Bird is a hit in my house as while. I've tried a couple other toys from the company that makes it and they have also been hits.

I just bought a DaBird yesterday for my 10 month old kitten, Miss Mia.  She loves playing with this toy.  I had to put it in my closet to make sure she didn't destroy the feather on it.

My Spencer and Katie love Da Bird. I was just playing with them this evening.

The problem that I have is with Spencer. He catches it and clings to it and goes for the string and chews it. So I have to always be very alert when playing with him with the Da Bird, because it takes only seconds for him to chomp through the string and eat it :(
