My Gus

Hi, I am new also. I believe God sent me to this site. I need to share my terrible grief over the loss of my orange, 23 pound cat,GUS, at 1am this morning.GUSS had somehow got outside and since he is declawed, I never let him out after dark. My son and I were in the garage and we heard some noise out front. We ran out to the front yard and I can't hardly even type these words but A dog or possibly a coyote had got the poor fellow. He was walking up the street carrying Gus. It saw my son and dropped Gus but he was already dead. Thank you everyone who reads this because I feel like this will help my grief. I miss him so much!!! We have 3 other cats and they realize that Gus is gone. I am not allowing them out for a few days.    THIS IS TO GUS:  I LOVE YOU, GUS. I KNOW YOU WENT TO HEAVEN AND HAVE MANY CAT FREINDS  THERE.  SAM, TINK  AND BROTHER MISS YOU TOO. YOUR LOVE FOR ME WAS NEVER ENDING AND I WILL SEE YOU IN HEAVEN.

I am so sorry to hear about Gus.  I really wish I was welcoming you to TCS under happier conditions.  You're right that this is a wonderful place for comfort when a dearly loved cat moves on.  Almost everyone here has been through losing a part of their heart like this, although not in the way you lost Gus.  How horrible.  No wonder you are so devastated.  I think you're wise to keep your other cats inside - I'd keep them inside permanently since there are coyotes in the area.   

Consider writing a tribute to Gus in the Crossing the Bridge forum:  http://www.thecatsite.com/f/19/crossing-the-bridge   Tell us all about him - his personality, how he came to you, etc.  And post pictures if you have any.   Many people get a lot of solace from doing this and other members have a way of posting the most beautiful, fitting replies.

About your other cats:   May we see their photos, as well?

I am so sorry for your loss. I understand, as I just lost my ginger boy a little over two weeks ago now. I am so sorry that it was tragidy that brought you here, but am glad you found us. How tramatic that must have been. You are amungst friends who really understand here. I agree with Margd, you should post a tribute on our Rainbow Bridge thread.
