I have a question for everyone. The last litter my mama kitty had we had two boys and a girl. The two boys are fine. The girl acts and looks like she has a mental disability. She can't keeper track of the water or food bowls. She will scream at you till you show her where they are. She is a very loving kitten. She is three months old now and the smallest of the three but eats well. Has anyone heard of any mental problems in kitties?

She is three months old. No not blind cause she sees the bed and window and chairs and everything else.

Does she show any other odd behavior?  Is she using her litter box okay?

If everything else seems normal,  I wonder if her there is a problem with her sense of smell.  If she couldn't smell at all, she wouldn't eat - I'm just wondering if her sense of smell is very weak and she has to be on top of it to recognize it.

Yes she uses the litter box fine. Knows where it is. She shows signs of either autism or downs syndrome. No I am in no way making fun of either. I love my baby.

Here;s a thread you might find interesting:  http://www.thecatsite.com/t/295726/can-a-kitten-have-down-syndrome   Their cat also had problems with finding his food and they finally discovered he had problems with poor depth perception.    Maybe something in it will give you some ideas.

As far as mental disabilities in cats - I've had no experience in this.  Hopefully someone who does will come along.  In the meantime I did a search and it seems the whole concept of mental disabilities in kittens is controversial.  Have you discussed this with your vet yet?  (S)he might have some helpful insights.
