I'm just wondering if anyone can help me out with some advice please.....my cat is very long haird and she's almost ten years old.the past week or so I have been noticing her scatching and digging a lot above her tail so I took a look and she has a few little sores on her I believe from scratching so much....I brush her a lot and I have her whole life....very rarely do I get a flea!......I've done some research on it and buy the look of it she has a reaction to a flea bite......so I was wondering what's the best and most gentle shampoo that's out there that I can use on her to bath her or any other suggestions on how to help her out......taking her to the vet is very stressful on her every shot but if I have to to get a cream or something to help her out I will

If she has fleas she needs a flea medication to eradicate them. Is she on a preventative now?

If not fleas, she could be having an allergic reaction, may need her anal glands expressed, be overgrooming due to stress...etc.

She hasent been on flea treatment for a few months now.....but I did find two or her today.....she's doing better allready I find...not half as much scratching...Im Gona make a apt tm for her to get her back on the flea treatment....I guess if she's having a reaction to a flea bite even one would drive her to dig like she was.........I was told today that a oatmeal bath or paste would help her if she started to dig like she was,,I'm just wondering if that's a good idea or not............thank you

Well if the oatmeal does work I'd rather make a paste or something because I did try to bath her today and it didn't go so well she got very upset and I don't wana do that to her again.....but I'm not sure if it's safe for her to ingest oatmeal or not((if I put the paste on her she will surely lick it off))...I know it's only human food but our food does have different effects on animals.......and I've had her for almost ten years now and I surly want her for ten more she's my baby.....I just lost her sister a few months ago and it tore me apart....I had them both since they were babies
