There was something about the Weruva... If not vegetable, then fish in some form. I did look it up.
You should go to their site. Only their BFF line contains exclusively fish and even then they only use small sustainable types of fish that contain little to no heavy metals. A large amount of people on this website feed their "Paw Lickin' Chicken" flavor as well as other fowl flavors. It is literally just chicken and sometimes turkey! They also have beef and lamb options (all without fish in the ingredients). Weruva has been rated by many as pretty much one of top brands of wet cat food if not the top brand because they have such good ingredients and are such a responsible company. A lot of cats LOVE it too. It is very appetizing when you see it.

No wait, I was looking at a different kind. I was looking at the cats in the kitchen. That variety has fish oil.

It was the potato starch. That's why I decided to keep looking.
Weruva does have Quick 'n Quirky, (here!) which doesn't have vegetables (including their ubiquitous potato starch) or fish oil. Our cats love Quick 'n Quirky.

I, too, wish Weruva had more flavors without potato or fish! Our cats can handle fish oil so we feed them lots of the Cats in the Kitchen foods but I don't like to feed them actual fish flesh more than once or twice a month, and even then it's not very much.

So, Rune stopped off at a specialty pet food store which is a block away, and picked up two cans of the Fussie Cat, one chicken and gravy and one chicken and egg. At $1.29 a 2.8 oz. can, we won't likely be buying it all the time from the specialty food store, but I opened the chicken and gravy, put it in her dish, and she dove in like she hadn't seen food in a week! It smells good to me, unlike the cheap food, so I don't really blame her. Here's a photo.

Looks impressive, to be honest!

The Fussie Cat was the brand I was looking hardest at on Chewy. That and the Tiki Cat, and the Tiki Cat is more expensive. This is just over a dollar a can at Chewy.

Certain flavors (tunas especially) are about $21 per case of 24 on Amazon. Considering its contents, that's pretty decent.

She has a fish sensitivity, so we have to go with the super premium chicken flavors.

Okay, so since we're currently monetarily bereft, I went to the specialty pet food store looking for something she would like that is to and either cheaper than or in a bigger can than the Fussie, and found Earthborn. It's got some veggies, but not a terrible amount. And she seemed excited by it, just not as excited as she is about Fussie. Oh well, at least she's eating.

The Earthborn Chicken Cacciatore isn't loaded with veggies.  It does have potatoes which they added when they removed carageenan.  My Lokhi loves it.

Yeah, Hecate wasn't super impressed with the chicken and vegetables, but now that we have the bottomless pit named Hades, at least I'm not throwing anything away anymore. That boy is not picky when it comes to food and seems to be always hungry!

Finally! I figured out how to get our picky little princess to eat! First, the Earthborn must be warmed. She can't have cold chicken! Second, Hades must be distracted. He can't interrupt her dining. And since he still has "eat it now because there will never be any more" syndrome, this is easier said than done. I tried locking him in the bathroom, but his crying distracted her. So, I wound up holding a struggling kitten so Hecate could eat in peace. She didn't finish the teaspoon of food I gave her, but she has eaten something. I'd let Hades finish it, but she might want it later and it's not cheap. Maybe I should start feeding her on her bookshelf.

She doesn't like pate. But it turns that she'll eat Hades' Friskies. I think he's the one that decimated the kitten chow, because he wasn't super hungry when Hecate woke me up for breakfast. She also doesn't seem to like the jumble. I can't figure out why.
