Great if you only have one cat  BUT most of us cannot hold our litterboxes up in the air to shake it. Smaller the box

more frequent the cleaning.

Bottom line people don't want to have clay dust blown back in their face. You need to wash both your hands,

so it's not as quick and fast as they want to project.  It's manual, it's work. Electric models would still be the better option than this.  What are your thoughts Draco??

Did you notice that the clumps just magically disappeared from the sifter? They edited the video so that you can't see how much trouble they had getting the waste into a plastic bag.

You'd either have to use a large enough bag to get the end of the sifter inside (i.e. a kitchen trash can liner) or you'd have to use a scoop to pick up the waste and transfer it. I'd just as soon scoop and be done with it.

I agree with the both above- certainly does not seem clean cut in the long run

They didn't show any poop in it, either. I wonder how hard that is to get out of the sifter if it's still sticky when you want to clean up.

When you do a full litter change you get to clean 3 boxes for every one box seems like more work to me . Also what if you don't turn the box right and litter goes clean thrue all 3 boxes onto the floor!

And (of course!) your cat thinks you should always take care of it immediately.

Nope. That's where they actually did something right. There's a, um, tab?, stickeng up on the ends that prevents putting them together wrong.

That's what would concern me too. Personally I find grabbing a scooper and scooping to be easy. Just as fast as the demonstration showed, with no chance of littler sifting through all 3 boxes...and litter would. You know how that stuff is.

This looks awesome, BUT after looking at the dimensions it's too small. I currently use two  giant size cat litter boxes which are about 35 x20x10. I would buy two of these if they were close to the size I am using now. I know it would be heavier to lift up, but not impossible!

Yep, I agree with the others... it's too small and looks like more work because you have to sift and scoop out the waste which was edited out in the video. Our cat is small, but she loves a big litter box where she can turn around easily and dig. This looks like her smallest litter box (she has four) which she uses only occasionally in the middle of the night since it's closest to her bed.

Her favorite box is this cheap, large and in charge cement mixing tray (best $9 I ever spent):

It looks to be about the same size as the tray of the litter box someone gave me for the kittens. And it is hooded, otherwise I wouldn't use it at all for all the mess there would be.

I have two of the Van Ness sifting boxes. There isn't any scooping afterward, you just pour the clumps into a bag. I use generic 8 gallon trash bags, and one holds the waste from two boxes used by two cats, cleaned once a week. Unless you let them go longer, there isn't a need for a full litter change as what is left behind is clean litter. You just add more when the level gets too low. I can clean both boxes in under five minutes total, start to finish.

The idea may not appeal to you, but trust me - the concept is great and really works. I would try these if I needed new ones.

The Van Ness ones look better to me and you can get 2 of those on Chewy for less than the price of 1 Luuup box. I might have to get a Van Ness box next time I replace one of ours. The next one to go is going to the Omega Paw. I used to use it the way it was designed. Roll it and the waste ends up in a tray that you empty but there ended up being a lot of clean litter in the tray that got dumped too so I was wasting litter left and right. Now I just use it as a regular box but there are grooves in the bottom where the screen went and it's a pain to clean because of them.

Welcome to TCS too by the way!!

Would the Van Ness work even with a big cat? I am wanting to get a sifting litter box and only have seen that one but my cat is about 18lbs and likes to turn around in the litter box.

Im not sure how many people posting have actually used it, but it is great. We got ours in from Kickstarter a week ago and we have 3 cats using it. Every night I empty out the box and it takes me 10 seconds and done.

Just got my box in a few days ago, and I'm not too impressed. It's better than dealing with lacerated liners since my cats have their claws, but there is still clean up involved. The urine still sticks to the edges of the box, so I have to use the scoop to get it off, then have to spray the top tray down several times to get it clean enough to put it on the bottom. Disappointing especially since we waited months after the expected delivery date.
