Awww my poor little Frankie,my cat who is 2yrs has got ear mites. I took her the vet because she was scratching her left ear a lot and I saw there was a little red patch by her ear. The vet checked her out and said she has ear mites so gave me some ear drops to give her, twice daily for a week. The vet gave her the first lot and made it look easy to apply them. Well,I struggled with the second lot but did get them in but Frankie was so cautious of me and it took a little coaxing for her to come around. It's day two now and I have had a neighbour help me give her the ear drops but she really doesn't like it. Afterwards, she seems really cautious of me but does eventually come round and has just been sat on me but has now took herself off on her own. I'm really worried that Frankie's trust for me is going to go if I continue to give her these ear drops. What do I do?? I would be so lost without her and to know that I have pushed her away giving her these drops scares me. I hate putting her through this. Thanks for any advice.

You might try wrapping her in a towel so that all of her paws are covered.  Have your neighbor hold her and then do the drops quickly.  Next give a really yummy treat.  Something extra special.  Try plain cooked chicken, canned tuna or canned salmon.  Just a little bit.

He may be upset with the drops, but they are  necessary.  You must not stop giving them.  Have extra play time scheduled for when you don't have to give the drops.

Also another tip is to be very calm during the process.  I know it is hard and I know you are stressed.  Yet your kitty picks up on this.  Try to be very matter of fact and just tell kitty that it's time for drops, get it over and reward with a treat.

YOu also might look on youtube for some videos on giving cats ear drops.  Usually a cat is great at the vet as they are nervous and just give in.  Once home, it's a different story.  If you are still struggling, call your vet and ask for help and suggestions.

Thank you so very much for that advice. Me and my neighbour did wrap her up in a towel and I was more matter of fact about giving them as before,I was so nervous and saying 'oh I can't do this' and she certainly did pick up on it. I have asked my sister and her boyfriend to come and do this morning's lot as,although she still trusts me,she is a bit nervous about coming to me now and she would come and sit on me all the time. Now I'm lucky if it's once a day now. But again,I really appreciate you taking time to reply and give me advice. Thank you so so much! Today is day four so we are over half way :) again, thank you :)
