So Chloe is 10 years old, has always been very healthy, and still acts like a kitten. As of around September last year I noticed she started peeing on the rug in the laundry room. Had a very foul odor, and was still peeing in litter box like normal also. Said rug has now been thrown out so she has resorted to rugs downstairs. Originally I thought it might be because right around the same time, I started putting in a lot more hours in at work-50+ so it seemed she was marking because of anger haha. But now I'm beginning to wonder.

No new additions to the house, just me working more. She's peeing on the rugs almost every day now it seems but also in the litter box. There's no odor from the pee in the box, yet the spots on the rug are STRONG- and crystallize if some drys on the floor. I'm taking her to the vet Friday because now I'm thinking UTI.
I'm just curious on your opinion at this point. Is it possible to have a UTI fester this long with little behavioral changes? Or does it seem like marking.

It doesn't really sound like marking to me.

But have you noticed how much water she's drinking? Has she been lethargic? Has she lost weight for seemingly no reason?

If she's drinking a lot, peeing a lot, losing weight or acting lethargic, I would make an appointment to check her for diabetes. Cats with diabetes are also prone to UTIs.

Yes, it's definitely possible it's a UTI or some other medical problem! I'd say likely, given there's a change in the smell of her urine. I'm glad you're taking her to the vet. She's probably experiencing pain during urination. Sometimes it cats change their litter box habits due to stress, but your work hours could also have exacerbated her condition.

If she is experiencing a urinary tract disease and your vet recommends a dry prescription food, please ask if there is a canned version available, and then once the problem is resolved, you can switch to a nonprescription canned food. Hydration is going to be the best prevention of urinary problems, and vets aren't always the best about addressing that, but canned food will provide the water intake levels she needs much better than any other diet (besides raw). You can read more about it here: www.catinfo.org/?link=urinarytracthealth

It's also possible, once everything is resolved, that she still avoids the litter box because she doesn't want the pain to come back, in which case putting a new litter box in a slightly different spot might be the quickest way to resolve that.

Water intake seems normal. She actually seems to be gaining weight (I'm trying my hardest to plump her up, she's always been really tiny at 4.5 lbs) she does pee a lot, but I've noticed that since she was on raw over a year ago. If the vet does try to put her on prescription, I will definitely try for a wet food. I used to feed her raw for the longest time but since she can't seem to handle it anymore she's on canned now.

If it's not a UTI it may be the rug. I have had more than one cat over the years that will pee on any rug with a rubber backing. There is something about the smell of the rubber that mimics the smell of a litterbox. If the rug has a rubber backing that may be the issue.

I say see the vet to be %100 sure.. My female kitty started peeing on the steps at 11 and it was the start of some medical conditions. She was fine with the box I was actually confused at the smell for the first 2 days until I found the wet spot. Its worth the visit I think.
