I first met Spike at a friend's New Years Eve party and fell, instantly, in love with him. Sadly, he has suffered a traumatic life.  Spike was in a terrible fight, which damaged his right eye and left ear.  His owners did not want to care for a sick kitty and abandoned him.  Fortunately, some kind souls rescued him - though not in time to salvage his eye, now ravaged by infection.  His injuries left scar tissue on his left ear makes it difficult for him to raise that ear. And his "good" eye has problems too.

Following his surgery and recovery, my friend agreed to foster him.  She fell madly in love and decided to keep him.  Now he has a wonderful home with loving caretakers and two feline friends to play with.  How anyone could desert a family member, especially one in crisis escapes me.  But I am thankful that Spike now enjoys the love and safety he very much deserves.

Anyway, I just wanted to share Spike's story as well as a few pictures.  I think he is very handsome.  And he is so sweet.

What a sweet, handsome looking boy, and what a lucky boy to have found your friend, now has a loving family who loves him!

Spike is lucky to have you to take care of him! Beautiful boy!!

It sickens me that people would turn away an animal because it means vet bills. But I am glad someone did find him and nursed him back!

Thanks for the kind words, everyone.  Yes, I am thrilled that Spike has found a forever home with loving caretakers.  He deserves it.

Just for clarification, Spike doesn't live with me (I wish he did); he lives with a friend who fostered him after his surgery.  Unfortunately, Lucy put her paw down - NO MORE CATS. But that's another story.
