Thanks guys! Unfortunately, he doesn't like the dinosaur outfit so that was the only time I out him in it. I'm thinking one of these days I may get more motivated and tailor it to fit him so he likes it more but we'll see.

Tiberius still seems to be doing good! I'm getting super impatient with the ringworm plague but I know there is no rushing it.

Stewball, yep where I'm from we use the word hoody to describe the article of clothing :)

So you've got your own little hoody. A very sweet one.

Thanks guys! He is definitely a cutie :]

Okay time for an update:

We went to the vet this morning, he checks in at just over 11 pounds, still a bit too skinny and goat shaped but not dangerously so. He has cycles of having diarrhea and horrible gas, so he is going to go on metronidazole and we're trying a new food. The fact that he isn't actively doing worse makes cancer less likely. Right now possible options are IBD, coccidia, giardia, or just old age. The vet thinks its quite possible that he really is older than 6-7 years, but there's no really accurate way to tell and he had his teeth cleaned just before I adopted him. The difficulty with IBD is that we've discovered he CAN NOT receive pred, he has some really weird side effects.

He still has ringworm. He's had it for I'd say at least 6 months now since I know he had it before I adopted him :[

I don't really know what else extra to do, besides what I'm doing and I cannot go to crazy house cleaning measures, I rent first of all and I simply don't have the means. So the vet said we can go from 2x weekly bathes to 1x weekly bathes which will be really nice and he is to receive itraconazole every day now instead of pulsing it weekly.

We've also noticed a little stiffness in him, suggesting some possible arthritis and again making it likely he's older than we were led to believe. Thus, once he starts all these other meds I'm to give his dasuquin daily.

He received another full blood panel today to check his liver function again to make sure he can handle all these drugs. Last time it came out perfectly, fingers crossed this time turns out just as well.

Ughh I am $225 dollars lighter.

I just wanted to add my support in this. I totally understand how all of this feels. My cat Cleopatra is going through a similiar thing, and they suspect cancer. Her symptoms are bloody stools. This is a horrible thing to deal with, all of the stress and sleepless nights. Let us all cross our fingers and hope for the best.<3

I have one question, though. Could bacterial infections are things like that show up on a blood test? Because Cleo's blood tests showed up normal. But I, as well, is grasping at straws.

The metronidazole is a good idea. It can fight giardia if he has that, and it also has an anti-inflammatory effect on the intestines.

Poor baby, so many medications! What a trooper.

Thanks everyone!
Well his blood panel came back good, yay! So he can consider the medication cocktail. He has had absolutely atrocious diarrhea since Friday though which has required 2 bathes to get the feces off him. He didn't start the new meds until this week though so I'm not really sure why its so bad at the moment! It's really exhausting. I hope the metronidazole kicks in and helps his stool soon.
cleopatras mom cleopatras mom I don't believe so. He received a full blood panel to make sure he wasn't have organ damage due to all the medications. I'm so sorry you're going through a similar thing with your kitty Cleo. Did she has a sudden unset of these symptoms?

She did, actually! It was around early December, and I remember she developed the symptoms after eating a mouse. I remember locking her away in my bedroom for an hour or two and when I came back, I saw explosive diarrhea and bloody mucus and vomit in several areas. I was PETRIFIED, but it seemed to stop for several days, and then it happened again. After that, it was normal stool(very occasionally soft), with a filmof blood. Soon, she very occasionally hd diarrhea when the bathroom door was closed, and she could not immediately get inside. And occasionally she would vomit from constipation. It only got better on Albon, but it was dehydrating to her system, and I was advised to stop it because she was developingsomething akin to crystals.

I'm glad to see cats getting better!
As for the metronidazole, a few weeks ago both my cats developed unexplained diarrhea and vomiting. The vet prescribed the metro, and it worked within a couple of days to clear them up. So I'm a fan! This was just a short-term issue though.

How's your kitty doin Cleopatras mom?

So Tiberius puked blood after a couple days on the metronidazole so per the vets advise I stopped all meds for 3 daus then resumed only the itraconazole.

The itraconazole clearly hasn't been super effective so today I picked up terbinafine for him. Fingers crossed this finally defeats the ringworm.

He's still having diarrhea. Next week I'm going to pick him some new food to try.

Vet said next stage of testing is fancy blood work to assess digestive enzymes, Vitamin B levels, and a couple other things along with a PCR panel. It's about $400.

I'm going to try the new food for probably a month or so and save money. If he doesn't improve then I'll probably run the tests.

Thank you for asking, it means a lot.

Tiberius is not doing well. He now has pure liquid diarrhea 6 times a day and vomits a couple of times a week.

I will be placing him in ronidazole soon to see if it helps. The vet recommended another blood test which I'll do after we try the new med.

If we can't find it what's wrong with him and he doesn't get better I'm seriously considering putting him to sleep. His condition just seems to be deteriorating. I don't have unlimited resources.

I've had him about 6 months now. He may even still have ringworm. I'm sad and burnt out.
