Chip has been missing since January 29th and I have been driving myself crazy. I have gone to my neighbors and all of the resident cat ladies, I have posted posters around the neighborhood offering a reward for any information, I have called local vets and rescues, and I have been to my County's Animal Control and the one for the county over. I even keep a close eye on petfinder just to see if he happens to be posted and he's posted missing on facebook and craigslist. Despite all of this I keep fearing the worst.

We live in an area where coyotes are present and you can even hear them chorus some nights. He was an outdoor cat at up until about a year ago so he should know the neighborhood and the coyotes are not a new problem, but even then many of our neighbors have gotten new dogs and things have changed. Top that off with the fact that I just found out a racoon has set up shop in our crawl space and has been eating away at the food I have been leaving out for him, and it just becomes hard to maintain hope and sanity. Chip was never one to back down from a fight and sustained many wounds and abscesses during the years he lived outside, but he's older now. He's older and has arthritis and is overweight and I am beside myself with worry at the thought of one of these threats finding him.

Even the weather seems to be against the search for Chip. I live in the south but the past few days have been below freezing and today showers of flurries have been on and off.

It seems like no one around me even cares that he's missing and I am a one woman rescue team, but I am downtrodden and in need of some words of wisdom. D: I don't know what to do anymore, and I just want my boy home.

I'm so sorry about your kitty Chip.  Hope he proves your worries wrong!  I don't know what else to suggest than what you've already done. Keep us updated please.
