Hi everyone,

I have come across a problem with a newly adopted cat that I have never had before, it has been almost two days and he has not used the litter box...at all. Dillinger is segregated in his own space (even though he has been under the dresser for a day) and there are no messes outside of the box. He has eaten and has had water so I am getting a little concerned. Any input would be greatly appreciated.

It happens. Sometimes new intakes at the shelter don't use their boxes for 24 hours or more. I'd give him a few more hours to settle down. Is it an open or hooded box? You might have to offer him both.

I have both types in the room with Dillinger now. I am heading into work so hopefully the house being quiet will give him enough nerve to come out from under the dresser and use one of them!

After no pee at 7PM, I drove to Petsmart in a snowstorm to get Catt Attract. When I got home he had used the litter box....Murphy's Law!
