I'm desparate for answers!!   our precious lil one passed away in my arms this past Friday.  I rescued her and her brother when they were barely 4 weeks old. took them to the vet, had them fixed and vaccinated as soon as they were old enough.  all was awesome until 2 months ago, she out of nowhere would hiss and growl at her brother. up to that point they were extremely close. never had been apart and very loving to each other. I took her to the vet, who told me sometimes that happens nothing to worry about.  that was 3 months ago.  two weeks ago she suddenly stopped eating and was extremely week, again I took her to the vet. she had a very high fever and wasn't eating. they kept her overnight, rehydrated her,and gave her antibiotics, they had me pick her up the next morning.  she didn't look any better to me but they said she would come out of it by the next day.  the next morning I went home from work at 1130 am.  I wanted to check on her first, went to our bedroom, she was convulsing on the floor. I picked her up and within 10 seconds she was gone.  my heart is so broken and I don't understand what happened.

Oh I am so very sorry to hear this! Losing a furbaby unexpectedly is one of the hardest thing an owner can face.

A high fever is almost often associated with an infection. Did your vet ever do any blood work? Were the kittens tested for FIV/Leukemia?

She could have reacted to the vaccinations?
Although cats can have adverse reactions to vaccinations, they occur shortly after the injections take place.   It looks like whatever happened developed several weeks after the initial vet visit.  It is so sad to lose such a young one, and so suddenly.  I'm really sorry this happened.  Poor little mite

Unfortunately, the only way you can know for sure is to have a necropsy done.   I would call the vet and ask them if they have any theories, however.
