What's an "Alpha cat." mean?

I've just noticed that i'm now known as an "Alpha Cat".

I understand being a kitten, then an adult, but what does "Alpha" mean?

You know those little pictures under people's names? Like the ones that are pictures of their kitties (like mine )? That's a custom avatar. You could have little Rosie with you on every post! If you need help making one, just let us know. There's lot of people here who can make one for you as long as you provide the picture you want.

Oh Heidi, i would love to have her on!!.

I do all my talking to you like this on my works computer, but i'm having problems sending a picture of her for you all to see, i think theres whats known as a firewall around the computer to prevent me doing it on my office computer.

I'd even post one of Rosie if i have to!.
