I have a 7yo cat that hates the smell of wet food and some people food (diced chicken, tuna, some cheese). She attempts to cover it all up like it's poo. I need to get her to eat it. I've read the forums on the tricks to address the disdain for wet food, but does anyone have any suggestions to get her over the smell issue?

It's probably less that she hates it and more that she doesn't recognize wet food as food. heres a links to read about how to transition a cat to wet/raw food. You have to be patient, use "toppers" or treats to entice her to eat, and invest in different brands/textures/flavors to find out what she likes.

Many indoor cats scratch their bowls or around their bowls. It's an instinct - in nature, they hide uneaten food so as not to attract predators.  Your kitty might continue doing this, even when you find a food that she likes.  As @missmimz

points out, you might have to go through the process of transitioning her to wet food from dry, as well as experiment with different canned or raw foods.

Good luck with this!
