Eating behavior

My cat eats great for a week or so and then cuts back for a few days. Acts fine very playful. He s 8. Anyone experience this with their cat?

In the wild they would go days without food, unless he's showing signs of illness I wouldn't be alarmed right away. Make a note of how often he's doing this how long is his fast and in between eating times are you changing his diet? If it's starts to become common best to get a check up the vet would know. If it's only happened once or twice it's normal. 

It happens every few weeks and I think he gets tired of the food. He has allergies so I m limited on what he can eat.

My senior senior male was doing that, changed to holistic kibble food. He tired of that to then I would

try another brand so have a few I switch to as well as making him his own food/s.

*always lots of moist food so if they don't eat allot of kibble at least you know the moist intake is high.
