So recently I've been getting asked this a lot on my cat's Instagram(yes they have an Insta!).. "What Breed is she??" "Is she a Forest Cat??"
I've been getting really curious, after looking up Norwegian Forest Cats, she looks exactly like this:

http://cfa.org/Breeds/BreedsKthruR/NorwegianForestCat.aspx

Same tortie pattern on her back, same tabby pattern on her face. Also, the eye and head shape are very similar.
But Hufflepuff is a small kitty. NFO usually push 9-12 pounds for females, Huffle is barely pushing 6.
She's a very awkward cat , she's 2 years old and she looks like she's stuck in that teenage kitten body. Long lanky legs, big feet and a skinny little body. She's In no way a big beefy Wegie.
She has the same coat type, a medium length plush coat. Though, with her Alopecia it's been dissappearing, but she use to be very plush!
What do you guys think? I'm intrigued with how closely she resembles this NFO with her coat pattern. Or leave other "look alike" suggestions.

Some seven years later, my fiance learned that their stray was actually likely a purebred Norwegian Forest Cat. Not a common find!

He matches the description perfectly, from the razor blade claws to the being giant.

If she's tiny but has a lot of the traits nonetheless, she might be a mix. Wegies also grow a lot slower than your typical cat - Azuma's gotten even bigger than pictured, and that was when he was 6 (he's 8 now).

You may also want to poke around and see what kind of cat breeders are in your area. Sometimes you can get a good guess of stray heritages by finding out who the backyard breeders are. At least around here, that's where the majority of strays come from.

He has that triangular face of the Wegie as well. How were you able to find out he may be pure?
We found her in a local pet shop (in awful conditions) and they state most of their kittens are drop offs. So most lilkely a backyard breeder with too many kittens, someone's cats had babies or strays. A little hard to figure that out.
But I never knew they are slow growing, maybe that explains why she is still lanky like a teen kitten?
(He's gorgeous btw!)
