Any of you who have reptiles or similar animals might know the story. I have a cricket that is in my Tarantula's cage. She is not eating him, and he, now that the evening is full is chirping like a maniac. This isn't just one of those crickets that chirps every now and then, he literally is chirping nonstop for five to ten minutes at a time. I'm surprised that Precious (my spider) hasn't killed him just out of annoyance (although i'm unsure how well tarantulas hear.
The chirping is driving my cat crazy. They have never taken interest in my spider's aquarium before and now they are circling it constantly. It is driving me crazy as well. I wish I could find it so that I could kill it myself, but I don't know where in the aquarium it went. Nothing is more annoying than a cricket chirping near midnight. I don't know what to do. I am worried my cats may try to take matters into their own paws, which would be dangerous for my tarantula and for them (though she doesn't have a bite poisonous enough to really hurt a cat). Ugh!
