I'm not really sure what you're asking. Why is the wet temporary? Are you going to 100% raw? Is the digestion issues from switching to raw? What kind of raw are you feeding? Commercial raw or are you making your own? What proteins are you feeding now?

I'd suggest mixing in a probiotic to his food daily to help with digestion issues.

Slippery elm bark apparently helps with digestion issues. You can read about it here and see what you think: http://www.littlebigcat.com/health/slippery-elm/

If you do try it, make sure you get capsules or powder without cellulose listed as an extra ingredient, because your cat doesn't need that and it could bulk up stool too much and lead to megacolon over time. But otherwise, it looks like a pretty safe option.

You can get it from a vitamin and supplement store in the form of a powder (it's sometimes sold as a tea) or capsules filled with powder that you can open. You can also try shopping for it online. Add 1 tsp of powder to half a cup of water, heat, and stir to create a syrup solution, and then store in the fridge. You can give half a teaspoon of that syrup to your 5 lb cat before or with meals 2-4 times a day.

Full disclosure, I tried it for my cat's constipation and I didn't see any improvement, but maybe it could help your cat with his issues. It's always a good idea to check with your veterinarian before adding any supplements, just in case.

I buy this one from Amazon but you can find it in Whole Foods, Sprouts, etc.

Read the little big cat article about making slippery elm syrup, dosing and how to administer. Here's another link for more info on how you give it.

http://www.felinecrf.org/holistic_treatments.htm

I give my 14lbs cat 1/2 a tsp of slippery elm syrup via a syringe every morning before his AM meal. I give it for vomiting/nausea issues not diarrhea. Be aware that if you are giving your cat any other medication it needs to be given separately from the SE as SE can interfere with the absorption of other mediations. Make sure you read those links before you proceed.
