Uh! Me too! I am doing ok, thanks. I was missing my baby this morning.
I haven't written poetry in years, (as I said in my story of how Angel adopted me),
But I started one a few weeks ago, wanting to write one for him. I finally finished it this morning, so will put todays date on it. As soon as I get it typed up from my notebook, I will share it with you guys.
Looking forward to it!

Thanks Dennis!

OK everyone, here it is. As most of you will remember, I haven't written in years, but wanted to write a poem for Angel. I started it a few weeks ago, & finally finished it yesterday. (This also makes my 176th poem!)

Angel

Those eyes, that sweet face, and that fluffy belly too.,

How could I have not fallen so in love with you?

You appeared out of nowhere,

I had never seen you before.

You patiently waited, until I was ready, for me to open the door.

I’d never had a kitty before,

I didn’t know where to start.

It didn’t take long before I knew , You had taken over my heart.

From the gentle morning pats on my face, for me to awake,

To the peacefulness in your purrs, while biscuits you would make.

My love, my joy, my sweet little boy.

You put a smile on my face everyday, Just watching you, and your silly little ways.

I loved watching you play on your cat tree, acting like a little silly monkey,

Or running and galloping around, like a horsey kitty.

You often brought much laughter to me.

You touched my heart deeper than it’s ever been touched before,

A love so unconditional, I couldn’t have loved you more.

Then, one day, the cancer took over you.

We all fought together, doing everything we could do.

I didn’t want to lose you, but your time had come.

Your spirit was ready to go, your earthly body was done.

My heart is broken into a million pieces, but it was time to end your suffering,

And let you go to Jesus.

Because of your love, my life has forever changed.

My heart will never be the same.

There will always be a big part of it, in which you will remain.

When my time comes, I know you will be waiting for me.

Then together forever, we will always be.

In the meanwhile my love,

I think of you everyday.

Forever embedded on my heart you will stay.

In Memory of My Sweet Angel

Boy, this really opened my floodgates.  It's a wonderful poem, Kelly.  It captures the love you and Angel shared so perfectly and at the same time describes why he was such a special boy.  And it's hopeful, too, even though you have lost him.  Thanks for publishing it.  It's really a beautiful tribute.

Wow. That was stunningly beautiful, AngelsMommy. You truly have a wonderful talent for poetry (man, I'm real jealous now!), and please, do continue to write, as I have found it to be great therapy. I wrote a lot after my mother passed away in 1994, and from that tragedy came the ability to write in a deeper way that I really didn't have before. It is quite clear that you love your Angel (as if we were not aware of it before!
) and your prose is phenomenal. As I read it, I got misty-eyed, and thought a lot about my sweet Midnight. And let me just say this: when you can emminate that kind of emotion in other with that kind of writing, then perhaps you may want to continue to go down that road. In any case, I find your writing beautiful, and hope that you will continue to bless us with a bit more poetry here on the Site.

Such a Beautiful Poem.

The part of 'unconditional love' really got to me.

And the second part, even though it made me teary eyed,...especially the part of the "your earthly body was done", and "my heart is broken into a million pieces",...

the ending of "Forever embedded on my heart you will stay" ...is truly meaningful, accurate, and uplifting, too.

@foxxycat, @Dennis47,  @cat nap, & @LotsofFur, Thank you so much. It warms my heart that you guys like it.
I had a little bit of a hard morning this morning. Today was supposed to be Angel's last chemo treatment. We were supposed to be celebrating today.  I know he's in a better place, but just the thought of that made me cry this morning.  Wishing things had turned out different. The way I was hoping for.

I don't blame you for crying. Shedding some tears for your boy. Still angry at the universe tonight. Sending you hugs and prayers. :vibes::rbheart::hugs:

The first one, is my favourite, because it shows Angel as king of his domain.

second is funny, since you had captioned it in photobucket, with "hide and go seek"....counting down...and then falling asleep.

third one...I have no idea what was going on there...but I can imagine, what Angel was thinking.

(I'm just hoping that your days get better, and these are the beautiful things your mind focuses on.)

Dear Kelly

The poem is beautiful, and I am crying again. I know how hard it is to have loved a cat as much as you have loved and still love Angel.I think of you all the time and am sending hope and healing your way. You have an enormous heart and I know that you will let another kitty into your life. You need to give your love soon to that end as I feel that from what you have written. Angel will love that poem, and feel your presence from it,surrounding him with all the love he knows you hold for him. Keep writing and sharing with us all we are here for you.

Thank you all so much!  It means a lot that  you guys like it. "Maybe we will have to start a poetry thread."

@cat nap  , I can tell you about the pictures. The first one, you got right. That's back when he used to still go outside. He was laying there on our stairs while I was working in the garden. That is the picture that is my screen saver!  The second one, LOL, yup, he was sleeping. He looks so little in that one, but the least he ever weighed was 13 something when I first took him to the vet.  As for the caption, actually, someone on the site here said that when I think I put it in the "caption this" forum. I loved it, so I put that on it.  Now, the last picture is one of my favorites because I just love that look on his face!  ..."Such disgust!"

When he used to go outside, he would get so itchy from the pollen, (& he liked to roll around in the dirt.
) so he would get a bath about once a month, & I used the wipes otherwise. He was good though. He whined about it the whole time, but he let me do it. I actually got it down to 10-15 minutes, & that was even sometimes when I would need to shampoo him twice. I used the 1-800 Pet meds Oatmeal, & Aloe shampoo & Cond.

I have to giggle every time I see that picture because he looks so mad! Such a cute face!!

I think you may have to start that poetry thread, so that us 'non-poetic cat people' can read some more poems. (Poetry is like one of the hardest things to write.)
  Interesting, inspiring to read, though.

Oh, yes, that last photo is such a unique shot. I would have said Angel 'looks a little "ticked"(slightly annoyed or angry)'....but "such disgust" is a way better description.

Thanks for the explanation. Yes, they all like to roll around in the dirt, when outdoors. I think it's to mask their scent from others.

(And the shampoo you used is similar to the one I had to use on my dog, with oatmeal and aloe to soothe the skin.)

(Angel kind of reminds me of either this smiley...
...or this one...
...but at least he is not this one..
..in that ''such disgust at having to have a bath" photo.)

(You know Angel didn't hold grudges, since he still went into your bathroom/tub area, later.)

Oh yea, about a poetry thread, I just may have to do that, IF, we can get some others to contribute.
  All original work only though!
