Good evening everyone!
My name is Samantha and I am a mother to 4. My 7 year old daughter,Mickey,Mouse, and Molly[emoji]10084[/emoji]...Molly is a white Bichon Frise puppy. Mouse is my long haired beauty(she is white, with gray ears and tail!...and Mickey is the baby.( Russian blue) very handsome boy. He is 6 months old and sick[emoji]128532[/emoji]...has not eaten for 4 days(I finally got him to eat today,a total of about 2 tablespoons of wet food. All he does is sleep and seems very lethargic, like delirious almost. Like he's forgotten how to eat.(Normally he scarfs down his food without chewing! Took him to a nearby vet and had an exam where he had 105 fever(cats should be 99. To 102?) Treatment plan was if test shows negative for leukemia, antibiotics and subcutaneous fluids. All for only $200. I have been waking him up to feed him and put him in the catbox. I unfortunately do not have $200 for medicine. My question is what can I do to nurse him back to his bug-a-boo self?! Doctor this evening said his heart and lungs sound good and with feline leukemia usually fluid in lungs and she says something bacterial or viral?... Just so frustrating that they have to charge so much and if I had it I would pay it. Trying to get moved in the next two weeks so money is not there[emoji]128554[/emoji]I was wondering if there's anything at a local.petsmart petco or anywhere for medicine or even vitamins to boost a cats immune system?... Any and all advice appreciated.
Thanks fellow cat lovers.

What medicine did the vet recommend? Did they say what they think the problem is?

Welcome to you and your wonderful family!
Hopefully we will get to hear more about them and see pictures soon.  (We love pictures, here.) That includes all of your menagerie, btw.

I've tried to address three aspects of your problem with Mickey but hope there isn't an overwhelming amount of information here.

I.  GETTING MICKEY TO EAT

I think you need to concentrate on getting him to eat.  It's promising that he ate a little today, but after four days without eating, he is in danger of developing hepatic lipidosis, or fatty liver dissease.    This is a serious condition that can be fatal.    One good way to get cats to eat is to tempt them with chicken or turkey baby food (no garlic or onions) or tuna fish.  Warm the food up to release the aroma - the stronger smells will make eating more appealing.   You can also tempt him with cheese or warm ham.

Below are two articles that you might find useful.

SUPPLEMENTS TO BOOST MICKEY"S IMMUNE SYSTEM

In terms of giving supplements to boost Mickey's immune system, you really should run this past your vet first.  Since you just were in, it is perfectly reasonable to call back with a follow-up question.  Below is some info on boosting the immune system, but again, call the vet first to get an okay.

GETTING HELP WITH VET BILLS

Since finances are an issue, there are several options for help out there.
