Can you post photos? How is your other cat?

Since the kitten is so young, it is possible that you can help to correct the leg using gentle massage. You would slowly massage it in the correct position, lengthening the ligaments.

Also please know that the mother can get pregnant again within a week of delivery. Make sure to keep her inside and away from unfixed males until she can be spayed.

Is he developing and gaining nicely?  If they vere somewhat premature its not sure momma has got enough with milk.  If you cant decide by a glance and a touch, use a scale daily.  Electronical scale measuring in grammes or at least, 1/10 of Oz, are best, and they dont need to be costly.

Re the twisted leg itself, I agree, its usually not a big problem - sometimes it gets better spontaneously, but you will of course increase the chances dramatically by gentle massage several times a day. Begin as soon you can when you are sure the kitten is stabilized and gains.

We had several treads on this tema.

I think gently massaging the leg into place should help to correct it.

I meant how is your other cat who had the hole in her side. I hope she's well.

Only 4 days old is to yours and baby's advantage!

Starting now, today, you can start working it in to growing correctly.

Technically it's not deformed, since it's developed correctly, but the tendons are not long enough so you will be stimulating the growth of them now while he is so new, this is when you will get the most results since their so soft and pliable now.

Baby will cry if taken away from mom, so work it with him there with her.

Start by massaging the leg in your fingers, rubbing and massaging it between your fingertips, do this for several minutes, warming up the leg and joints well, especially where it's starts to twist but all over it too.

You are relaxing the muscle and stimulating tendon growth by the massaging.

Once you have worked it for at least a full 5 minutes, start to gently bend the foot/leg in to the correct position. You are not forcing it, you are encouraging it to reposition itself.

As often as possible repeat this, at least 4+ times a day, the more the better, every time you go in there I would be doing this.

You will be surprised at how this works, and how fast.

Massage massage massage, then bend. The first week of birth works best, things start to get less pliable the second week and then on, so now is best while he is so soft and bendable!

yes...she is absolutely fine...with God grace...

its really a miracle that she has survived...

but her intestine is still(hanging) there...

she plays around the house like before...

she was a bit ill few days ago as she was nt able to poop...

then i had put a little veg oil her food then she was fine...

i think she her intestine will remain as such...

It would be great if you could update your other thread and post some photos. I'm sure everyone would love to see how she's doing!

And please keep us updated on this little guy!

This is very encouraging to me!  I was searching threads for more information because one of my kittens has both of her legs twisted :-( I am massaging several times a day but sick with worry!  When did you start to see her getting a bit better?  How often did you massage?  Any tips?

Its both her hind legs they don't bend in at the ankle or knee and she is 8 days old now.

Since this thread is several months old it's best if you start your own new thread, it will get more help.

Follow my post above, patience when massaging, don't try to rush through it.

You will start to see progress very soon, after only several days even.
