So my cat Molly had swelling on her left side of her face ....could tell she wasn't acting normal eating less brought her to the vet week and a half ago ....they stated that it could be a tooth infection but the area felt firm and not spongey ...Stated that they think it's a cancerous tumor. Put her on antibiotics she went back today for recheck and dr. Stated that even though she has horrible teeth that were moving and almost looked like they were falling out that it wouldn't make a difference and that since swelling was still there it was a tumor and only a matter of time before she would stop eating completely and I would have to put her down ....I for some reason am not satisfied with her approach and find it weird that she wouldn't at least try to get rid of the bad teeth and see what happens ...advice please

Did the vet do an x-ray or an ultrasound?  Do any blood work?  I would at least want to have more testing done before settling on a cancer diagnosis.  Can you get a second opinion?

They did no testing nor did they offer bloodwork ...she said that they could biopsy it but she would have to go under anesthesia and with heart murmur they didn't think it was worth doing since they are so certain it's a cancerous tumor ...I'm thinking about contacting a different vet who only see cats and have them see her for a second opinion

I would definitely seek another opinion for a diagnosis this serious and a cat-only vet sounds like an excellent choice.  However, since your current vet is worried about putting your cat under anesthesia because of a heart murmur, this might be another reason why she didn't recommend having the teeth pulled.  Your kitty would have to be sedated for that as well.  I really hope this is a dental issue and not a tumor.

Oh, I know.  Getting news like this is devastating.
Good luck with the new vet.  And please let us know what they tell you.  I'll be sending good thoughts out for him.
