Why does my cat sometimes vomit after defecating?

He will poo and then right after vomit a little. His stools aren't hard so I don't think it's constipation. He also eats food fast and sometimes vomits the pellets right up then goes to eat after.

Constipation is notorious for causing vominting after a bowel movement. I I suggest discussing this issue with your vet.

Moist stools are a sign of constipation? I thought that was a healthy stool? My cat only eats dry food and won't touch any canned food, but drinks a lot of water.

The stool doesn't always have to be hard for there to be constipation. The stool can also be small balls/pieces, as opposed to logs.

Another condition called Megacolon is the result of chronic constipation and can present with very large/bulky stool.

It still could be constipation even if the stools aren't noticeably hard. Straining to poop can induce the vomiting. Or, it could be something else, but either way a vet's the one who's going to be able to diagnose it. The vet can feel your cat's abdomen and see if the stool in the intestine is normal. If it is constipation and it isn't dealt with, megacolon can develop.

Also, even cats who are good drinkers don't get as much water as those who eat wet food as their main diet. Constipation can be caused by a lot of factors, though, and I really recommend a vet to help you figure out the problem, because lots of constipation remedies are very easy but can make some types of constipation worse.

My cat was just at the vet and had a full health exam and blood tests and nothing was found when I mentioned this? The vet said possible acid reflux.

Interesting. Is your cat going to the litter box shortly after eating?
More often than not yes, but not always. My cat has tried eating canned food and it never agreed with him so that might be why he avoids it.
