Hello,

It's been an hour since my darling Angel has had her first kitten, unfortunatly it did not survive. It seems like it is a pretty big kitten as well. The still born is about 6 inches long between the head and butt.
She has walked around the house, ate a little bit of food, and is spotting a little bit of blood. Her stomach seems like it's empty, I can't feel another lump or anything, it just feels like loose skin now.
Please help! Thank You!

I'm so sorry the kitten was stillborn. There are many reasons for this. She may or may not have anymore kittens to deliver. Some spotting is normal for a few days after cats give birth. Is she aware that her kitten is not alive? Does she seem distressed? Has her milk come in?

Does not feel like the milk has come in yet. Yes she does know the baby is not alive. She's back to acting the way we was for the last couple days walking around meowing a lot.

The question is, does she walks around and meows because she isnt well - which is alarming.

Or does she walks and meows because she is seeking after her kitten.  Which is more reassuring.  And if her motherhood instincts are awake, you can perhaps have her as a foster mom??

Normally, if she was ok, no visible troubles etc, I would say - you shall observe, but you dont need to panic, you can wait and see.  That advice both if you think she is done, and even - if you KNOW there are kittens left inside.   Usually they come out them too with time, without problems: pauses are common, for hours and sometimes even days.

But if you think she is in distress, I do strongly suggest you contact your vet asap.  Begin by phoning at least.

Did the placenta come out?

I'm so sorry the kitten died. It sounds like it may have been in the birth canal for too long because it was big.

Please know that your cat can get pregnant again within a week of giving birth and can have a silent heat, meaning you wouldn't necessarily know. If there are no more kittens and she doesn't have milk in, you can spay her any time now.

She knows that the kitten has passed we left it with her, we did not remove it from her area, she went and slept in her usual area instead of the box. She hasn't walked around the house crying he has only yowled when o woke up this morning to get her lovings. She is spotting around the house still. Seems like he usual self other wise though.
I know that the whole sack came out.

That may be it for her then. You can remove the deceased kitten now and bury it. Poor baby.
