Those of you who bought the sourdough starter, how are you doing with it?

I made sourdough English muffins this past weekend and they are so good! I'm not sure what exactly happened; they don't have the nooks and crannies that regular English muffins do. They almost remind me of a biscuit on the inside. I think I used too much flour, too, even though the recipe calls for 7 cups of flour and I used a scant 6 cups. But my, they do taste good! I added one tablespoon of cinnamon (next time will use more) and 1 good cup of raisins to the dough. Rick and I each had one yesterday....they're a little thick to split and toast, so we used the broiler for them (we don't have a toaster oven). With some butter melting into the muffins, they are just delicious. We gave a half dozen to Rick's sister and BIL, too, and they really like them, too. I'll be making them again, but will keep a closer eye on the amount of flour I use. And I won't roll them so thick. Still, it was my first time making sourdough English muffins.

Next up: I'm thinking sourdough bagels.
